MLCC delegate presented papers at the International Conference on Teaching Mandarin as a Second Language, 2016
A delegation from Mandarin Language and Culture Centre (MLCC) had participated in the International Conference on Teaching Mandarin as a Second Language that was organized by the Institute of Kong Zi, University of Malaya. The conference was held on the 5th- 6th November 2016 at University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. MLCC language teachers delegation were Ms Yong Ying Mei, Madam Kang Mei Feng, Ms Cheng Ching Yee, Ms Ju Meng and Ms Sun Yunfeng.
Ms Yong who was the Vice Chairman of the conference had encouraged all the Mandarin language teachers to conduct research and survey. As a result, MLCC represented by Ms Yong, Ms Cheng, Ms Ju and Ms Sun had presented their research papers at the conference. The proceedings were as follows:
1. Yong Ying Mei & Cheng Ching Yee. (2016). Mandarin Need Analysis in East Coast Region of Malaysia.
2. Cheng Ching Yee & Yong Ying Mei. (2016). The Study of Polysemous Words in HSK Level 1 exam papers.
3. Ju Meng, Wang Yuexin & Yong Ying Mei. (2016). A study on Chinese Culture Learning among Non-Chinese Students in Malaysia.
4. Sun Yunfeng, Wang Jinghua & Cheng Ching Yee. (2016). The Study of Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language E-learning Usage in Universiti Malaysia Pahang.
Ms Ju and Ms Sun were postgraduate students from Hebei University, China. They served Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) as volunteer language teachers. Their papers were written based on their teaching experiences in UMP under the guidance from Ms Yong and Ms Cheng. These papers were the results of academic collaboration between UMP and Hebei University, China.
