Twenty-seven, Form Three students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Gambang participated in the programme which was aimed at creating awareness, providing exposure and giving encouragement for students in rural areas to discover more about science and technology today.
The one-day programme was divided into two sessions. The first session started with introduction to Powtoon, an Online Presentation Software and followed by a hands-on session in using the software. The second session was the introduction to the Yemeni Culture. The session was conducted by two UMP undergraduates from Yemen. The purpose of this session was to provide the participants with an authentic glimpse on a foreign culture. Both the organisers and participants were able to gain precious experiences and knowledge from this programme.

Norazliza Binti Bajuri, the secretary of the programme added that “we are able to further develop our team working skills by working effectively with all the members in the team regardless of the different skills sets, personalities, work styles or motivation level that we might have”. This programme not only gave benefits to the SMK Gambang students but also provided the opportunity to the seven UMP students to build their confidence level, communication skills and other elements of soft skills in their daily life.
The programme ended with a closing ceremony where certificates of participation and token of appreciation were given to all participants.
