Teaching and Learning Malay Language among Engineering International Students via Video Modelling and WhatsApp Group won Silver at K-Novasi 2018
17-18 January 2018 – A team of language teachers and lecturers from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) headed by Miss Jamilah Bebe Mohamad with their project entitled ‘Teaching and Learning Malay Language among Engineering International Students via Video Modelling and WhatsApp Group’ won a silver medal at the recent Pertandingan Inovasi Pembelajaran & Pengajaran (K-Novasi) 2018. The annual event was organised by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with the theme ‘Education 4.0: Future Proof Graduates’ (Pendidikan 4.0: Graduan Kalis Masa Hadapan). The project, which falls under the Learning Aids & e-Learning category, aims to provide effective and trending platforms for learning Malay language, to accelerate the process of Malay language proficiency via video recording and to promote Malay language among international students. The Malay language too is promoted as the language which plays a role in strengthening the spirit of unity, belonging and nationality among Malaysian regardless of race, religion and culture. Other activities throughout the 2-day event include Bicara 4.0, Bengkel Nano, and Get-Kahoot competition. Professor Dr Noriah Mohamed, Dr Jamal Rizal Razali, Farah Hanan Aminallah, Nursyaheedah Muhammad Isa and Anis Nabilla Ahmad are the other team members of the project.
